I will give you a new heart and put
a new spirit within you. -Ezekiel 36:26
A friend who is a heart transplant cardiologist has an appreciation of Ezekiel 36:26 that not many of us can understand. Mike manages the pre-operation and post-operation care for heart-transplant patients. He's often in the operating room as surgeons remove diseased, discolored hearts and replace them with vibrant, pink "new" donor hearts.
Mike explains that the process for selecting who gets a "new" physical heart is similar to who can get a "new heart" from God (Ezekiel 36:26). In both cases, need alone is the criterion.
Ezekiel's mention of the people of Israel someday getting a "new heart" is a foreshadowing of the change that takes place at salvation. Ephesians 4:24 and 2 Corinthains 5:17 refere to it as "a new man" and new creation." For the Israelites of Ezekiel's day and for those of us living today, only one criterion must be met for us to acquire a "transplant." We must need it. It matters not whether we're rich or poor, respected or scorned. Citizenship, social status, and ethnicity are inconsequential. If we need a new heart from God, we can have one through faith in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection.
What indicates that need? As sinners, all of us need a new heart. Have you had a spiritual heart transplant? -Dave Branon

INSIGHT
Ezekiel, exiled in Babylon, prophesied hope to the Jews even as the Babylonians plundered Jerusalem. In the midst of the devastation and death, God promises restoration and a bright future when His people will repent of their idolatry and when God will cleanse and purify them and make them into a holy nation. This transformation will be from the inside out. Only with a new heart and a new spirit will they have the ability to be holy (vv. 26-29), also 11:19-20). This passage is the core of Ezekiel's vision. Jeremiah too spoke of the new heart as a blessing of the new covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34; 32:37-40).

Praise for God's Workmanship
Any biology text can illustrate how wonderfully complex the human body is. From brain cells to blood cells — each intricate component of our bodies is carefully designed. You don't have to take a biology course to marvel at how our eyes can take in the bright blue color of the sky, how our ears can detect a pin drop, how our nose can enjoy the aroma of ground coffee or the scent of a beautiful flower. How exciting it is to enjoy the body God has made for us!
David expressed this same wonder as he prayed this prayer. Set aside a few minutes today to praise God for his sovereign care.

En the Star Wars trilogía allí es una escena que me recuerda a alguna Iglesia personas que conozco. En el versículo 28, Paul no es abolir todas las distinciones de género o étnica, económica. Hablando de nuestra salvación, Pablo dice que Dios trata a todos en el mismo basic. Todos pecaron (v.22; Romanos 3:23). Todos deben arrepentirse (Romanos 10:9-13). Todos se guardan de la misma manera-por fe sola (3:24-30). Todos se convierten en hijos de Dios "a través de la fe en Cristo Jesús" (Gálatas 3:26).

In the Star Wars trilogy there's a scene that reminds me of some church people I know. At an establishment somewhere in a remote corner of the galaxy, grotesque-looking creatures socialize over food and music. When Luke Skywalker enters with his two droids. C3PO and R2D2 (who are more "normai than anyone else there), he is surprisingly turned away with a curt rebuff: "We don't serve their kind here!"
That strange scene captures the malady that we all struggle with in our relationships here on planet Earth. We are always more comfortable with people who are just like us. But think of where you would be if Jesus had felt that way. He was divine, perfect in every way, which makes Him far different from us. Yet He came to dwell among us and to die for us.
Those of us who follow Christ shouldn't have "they're not my kind" in our vocabulary. As Paul reminds us, in Him "there is neither Jew nor Greek,...slave nor free,...male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). So, whether others are different in attitude, perspective, race, class, political slant, or social standing, it should make no difference to those of us who call ourselves by Jesus' name.
Find someone who is not your kind and share Jesus' love with them today! - Joe Stowell

INSIGHT
In verse 28, Paul is not abolishing all ethnic, economic, or gender distinctions. Speaking of our salvation, Paul says God treats everyone on the same basic. All have sinned (v.22; Romans 3:23). All need to repent (Romans 10:9-13). All are saved in the same way-by faith alone (3:24-30). All become the children of God "through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:26).

"Дьявол и Дэниэл Вебстер" это рассказ американского писателя Стивена Винсента Benet. В, ИАВИС Stone, Новой Англии фермер, имеет такие "невезения" что он продает его душу дьяволу чтобы стать процветающей. В конце концов дьявол приходит для сбора ИАВИС в долг. Однако видного юриста Дэниэл Вебстер вызывается для его защиты. Искусный серии аргументов, Webster выиграл дело против дьявола и ИАВИС спас от погибели.
Конечно, это сказка это только фантастики. Но Библия записывает видение, в котором сатана обвиняет верующего перед божественным судьей. Джошуа, первосвященник, стоит перед Богом. Как рисунок его личным грехом и вины священник одет в грязной одежде. Рядом Сатана обвиняет Джошуа. В конце вавилонское изгнание евреев 50 000 возвратились в Иерусалим (Эзра 2:64-65) и возглавлял Зоровавель и Джошуа их первосвященника (Аггей 1: 1). Из-за сильной оппозиции (Эзра 4) и нерационального распределения приоритетов (Аггей 1: 2-8), восстановление храма был тупик около 20 лет. Бог воскресил пророков Аггей и Захарии поощрять его людей для завершения восстановления, храм и покаяться и подтвердить их приверженность ему. Захарии, чьё имя означает «Яхве помнит», получил восемь видений (Захарии 1: 7-6: 15), напоминая народ Яхве верность его Пакта и будет восстановить и благослови нации. Четвертый видение записывается здесь (3: 1-10) и включает их первосвященника. Божественное видение заверяет их, что Бог будет очистить их (vv. 1-4) и сделать их королевских священство (v.5).
