GOD'S LABOR OF LOVE

God’s Labor of Love

The Gospel is about God’s labor of love.
During Christmas, we labor in love.  The
Gospel of God’s love is about freedom.

Christ’s mission was to set us free from sin.
The Gospel touches all of us and all of creation.

We are all in sin but when we believe in Jesus,
we are set free, (Galatians 3:22).  We were
held prisoners by the law.  We were unable to
keep the law.  It was a reminder that we were
sinful.

Now by faith in Jesus Christ we are set free.
In God’s gift of love we are loved equally.

Before Christ came, we were under the law and
couldn’t receive the inheritance God had for us
but after Christ came, we are now able to receive
the inheritance of God.

When we talk about Christmas we talk about freedom.
God sent His son to set us free.  Jesus sets you free
from bad things and free from good things but the
greatest of all freedom is to be set free from sin.

WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT

What Christmas Is All About

Christmas is about the necessity of the new birth.
Jesus was born so you and I can be born again.

Christmas is about the possibility of freedom.
Jesus was born on Christmas to set the human
spirit free from sin.

Christmas is about the promise of love.  God
loved this world that He gave His only begotten
Son.  The power of the truth that God is love is
shown when God allowed His Son to be born
in a stable, (Luke 2:6-7).

God sent His Son from glory and brought Him
into the world to be born in a stable.  God
reached down to us, (Philippians 2:8).

God labored for us by stepping down as a child.
God humbled Himself.  God allowed His Son to
be a target for murder, (Matthew 2:13).  God
allowed His Son to be put on a hit list.

There is human and demonic evil but God is with
us, (1 Peters 5:7).  Even as Christ is on the hit list,
those who follow Him is on the hit list too.  We
are called to live for Christ.  We need to put on
the full armor of God.

God labored in love by allowing His Son to become
a refuge for us, (Matthew 2:14-15).  Out of Egypt
God brought His Son.  You can be a refuge out your
state of mind.

Jesus felt that He did not belong.  He had no place
to lay His head.  Earth was not His home.

Following Christ today makes us a stranger in a foreign
country.  Refugees take refuge in God and His promise.

HEAVEN BOUND

Heaven Bound

Death is not the end of life in the Christian
world.  Death is moving from the earthly
plane/world to the spiritual plane/world.

While we are alive, we can continue to do
God’s will but once we die, it is our time to
stop our work and come into the Lord’s
presence to worship Him.

Death is the key for us to enter through the
portals to our heavenly home.  And being
with the Father is better than anything we
can think about or try to imagine.

Who would want to stay here on earth with
all this evil in our presence.  I’d rather be with
the Father but I want to make sure I do all I can
in witnessing to others about the Father now so
I can get a great reward in heaven.

This world is temporary.  Our eternal home is
when we are with God.  When we read the
Scriptures, we are not sad to leave this world.
Reading the Scriptures gives us the strength
to store up treasures in heaven instead of on
earth.

Heaven is the place I want to be.

MYTHS ABOUT HEAVEN!!!

Myths About Heaven!!!

Some people think when you go to heaven you
will be sitting on a cloud plucking the harp
playing music.

Some people think that heaven is a place where
there is nothing to do; nothing to look forward
to.

Some people think when they get to heaven they
will be resting and thinking about things but not
doing them.  To an active person they would go
crazy doing nothing.  They would soon be bored
and frustrated. When you speak of rest in the
biblical terms it means you will rest in activity.

Some people think wanting to go to heaven is their
way of escaping everyday life but wanting to go
to heaven is wanting to be with the Lord.

Some people think that there will be nothing
interested to do in heaven.  Are you kidding?
Heaven is not a place for lazy, listless people.
Jesus said in John 5:17 that God will have plenty
of work for you to do.

Some people think the music in heaven is going
To be repetitive.  This of course will lead to borden.

Some people think that Peter is guarding the pearly
gates in heaven.  WRONG!!!

Some people think that when we get to heaven we
will be wearing halos and wings.

There is no scriptural support that backs up any of these
wild myths.

HEAVEN IS REAL.

WHY IS HEAVEN BETTER BY FAR?

Why Is Heaven Better By Far?

Heaven is better by far because we will spend
eternity with God the Father.

Heaven is better by far because we will be saved
and we will have no more sin.  The word failure
will not be a part of our vocabulary anymore.

Heaven is better by far because we will meet up
with our loved ones and make new friends.

Heaven is better by far because the joy that we
experienced on earth cannot compare to the joy
we will experience in heaven.

Heaven is better by far because everything that
is needed to make our life better will be at our
disposal.

Heaven is better by far because we will not be
tempted by the flesh, by the world or by the
devil anymore.

Heaven is better by far because the music there
will be better than any music here on earth.

Heaven is better by far because the body will be
able to do whatever it wants to do.  No more
aches and pain.

Heaven is better by far because our knowledge
will not be limited.

Heaven is better by far because all our desires
and needs will be met.

Nunca he olvidado sus palabras.

THE PRINCE OF PEACE

Good afternoon everyone.

Here is today's Bible lesson:

THE PRINCE OF PEACE

READ:
John 14:25-31

Peace I leave with you, My
peace I give to you. -John 14:27

Years ago I came to know a young man who rode with a motorcycle gang.  He had grown up on a mission field where his parents served.  When his family returned to the US, he seemed unable to adjust to life.  He lived a troubled existence and was killed in a street fight with a rival gang.

I've helped at many funeral services, but this was by far the most memorable.  It was held in a park where there is a natural grassy bowl surrounding a small lake.  His friends parked their bikes in a circle and sat on the grass around a friend and me while we conducted the service.  We spoke simply and briefly about peace among warring factions and the inner peace that Jesus' love can bring.

Afterward, a motocycle gang member thanked us, started to walk away, but then turned back.  I've never forgotten his words.  He said that he had "a putt, a pad, and an old lady" (a bike, apartment, and girlfriend), and then added, "But I ain't got no peace."  So we talked about Jesus who is our peace.

Whether we've got a chopper or a Cadillac, a mansion or a tiny apartment, a loved one or no one-it makes no difference.  Without Jesus, there is no peace.  He said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you" (John 14:27).  This gift is for all who trust in Him.  Have you asked for HIs peace?  -David Roper

Lord, I want to have peace in my life.
To be at peace with You, with others, and with myself.
Your Word says that comes from You.
Please give me Your gift of peace.  Amen.
******************************************************************
Jesus died in our place to give us His peace.

INSIGHT
Jesus speaks of two gifts He gave to His disciples-the gift of the Helper (the Holy Spirit [v.26]) and the gift of peace (.27).  As the Spirit of truth (v.17), the Holy Spirit inspired the truth to be written down as God's Word to us (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).  The Spirit also communicates, teaches, and bears witness to the truths about Jesus Christ (John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13-15), reminding and illuminating our minds and hearts to know and understand Jesus' teachings.  The Holy Spirit defends truth as He stands in contrast to our spiritual enemy-Satan-the father of lies (John 8:44).

Have a blessed day.

A THANKFUL HEART

A Thankful Heart

How do we say thank you to God?

We need to tangibility thank God in these last days.

We can thank God for the other people in our lives.

We want to thank God for the person who has given
us the faith, love and hope to trust in God.

We want to thank God for the power and beauty of
His Word which is in us to guide our steps.  God is
very talented.

We want to thank God for freedom.

We want to thank God for moral power to do what
we should do and not what we want to do and the
freedom to be all that we could be through His power.

We want to thank God for joy and mystery in His Word.

And most of all, we want to thank God for the gift of His
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Without the gift of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, we
would all be doomed to eternity in hell.

I want to thank you Father for Your Son.

KNOWING GOD

Knowing God

New York is a noisy place.  It’s hard to stay still
and know God.  We want to know God more
deeply and personally.

The human race is a God rejecting culture.  It is
dangerous not to have God as priority in our life.

The human race knows there is a God.  They didn’t
glorify God and give thanks to Him. It is dangerous
to refuse to honor and to thank God.  When we do
this we come under the judgment of God.

The war in Iraq will continue and the war on terror
will become more of a treat to this nation.

This nation has to confess its sins to God almighty.
God is to be acknowledged by the American people.

When we fail to honor and acknowledge Him,
destruction will come and as you can see has come
upon this great nation.

We have always remembered 911 as one of the
terrorist threats which was carried out and destroyed
life.

Honor God.

HOW TO GIVE THANKS TO GOD

How To Give Thanks To God

We need to know not just to give thanks but
how to give thanks.

How do we give thanks in the last days?  We
thank God for genuine faith.  We thank God
for faith that changes people’s lives.

Real faith results in works.  Faith without deeds
are dead.  Genuine faith produces a new genuine
life.

Don’t talk and say that you have faith and the life
you live says something different.  You want to have
and be a testimony of living faith.

Biblical faith begins by hearing what God has to say.
Then Biblical faith moves from hearing to understanding
what God said.  Then Biblical faith is accepted.  It has to
say what I heard and understand has to be true.

Biblical faith then trust in Jesus Christ.  Biblical faith stakes
it’s eternal destiny on it.  The only way to know if that
trust is genuine it to obey God’s Word.

Without faith it is impossible to please God.  We need to
fix our eyes on Jesus to run the race.

Let us not grow weary and lose heart.  Have faith in God.

WHEN GOD IS WITH YOU

When God Is With You

When you accept God’s grace, you will
experience real peace of mind.  And having
that faith in God, you are going to want to
share it with others.

When God blesses us, He wants us to bless
others.

When we are able to give God praise, our soul
will be set free.

When we share the Gospel with others, souls
are saved.  We displease God when we look for
man’s approval.

When we put our faith and trust in God, we do
not fear in living on this earth.  Our power and
strength comes from God.

We don’t want sin to be the cause of the
disconnection with God.  We are one in Christ
and divided without Him.

If Christ is in your life, you will live forever.  If you
are humble and let Christ led you, you won’t stumble
and fall into sin and temptation by Satan.

When God is on your side, you can face whatever
trials and tribulations come your way. You dwell in
God’s safety in times of trouble.

Put your faith and trust in God always.

THE WRATH OF GOD

The Wrath Of God

The pouring of the bowl is the wrath of God.
God’s wrath is Holy, right, Justice…

God’s Judgment has been poured out now at this
time because Israel suppressed the truth.  They
believed a lie that they are God instead of giving
God the praise and glory.

Jesus Christ is the highest express of love in
mankind by God the Father.  Christ will reserve
His greatest judgment after the rapture when
He returns.

The Israelites neglected justice, mercy, and
faithfulness.  They appear righteous but deep
inside they are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

Unless they repent, they will be doomed, for
Armageddon is coming.  Armageddon is the wrath
of God.  Armageddon is the land of God.  Armageddon
will take place in Israel.

In the mist of suffering and judgment, there will be hope.
God has loved them with everlasting love.  The Old
Covenant will show you needed mercy.  The New Covenant
will give you mercy.  The New Covenant is still in affect
today.

The people of Israel have been revived because God has
made a New Covenant with them.  The Old Covenant
drew us to grace.

History it turning everyone and everything against the
Jewish people.

When God punishes us He offers renewal.  God promises
a national, ethical and political restoration.

WHEN THE WIND BLOWS

Good morning everyone.

Here is today's Bible lesson:

WHEN THE WIND BLOWS

READ:
Romans 8:26-30

Blessed be the...God of all
comfort, who comforts us in
all our tribulation.
-2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Harold and Cathy and their two sons were in a wooded area in Minnesota when a tornado touched down.  Cathy described her experience to me several years later:

"My husband and older son were some distance away, but my younger son and I took cover in a cabin.  We heard a sound like a hundred railroad cars and instinctively dropped to the floor in a tucked position.  The cabin began to break apart, and I shut my eyes because of all the flying debris.  It felt like I was going up in an elevator and then was shot into the air.  I landed in a lake and clung to debris to stay afloat."

Tragically, however, their younger son did not survive.  Harold said of their loss:  "We cried every day for 6 weeks.  But we believe that God's loving sovereignty allowed that tornado to come down where we were.  And we also took comfort in the fact that our son knew the Lord."

When a loved one is taken and we are left behind, it can create all kinds of questions.  In times like these, Romans 8:28 can be of great encouragement:  "We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  This couple's trust in God's loving soverignty brought them comfort in the midst of their grief (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). - Dennis Fisher

When  we sustain a heartbreaking loss,
When grief overwhelms our soul,
The Savior who gave Himself on the cross
Reminds us that He's in control. -D. De Haan

Our greatest comfort in sorrow
is to know that God is in control.

INSIGHT
In Romans 8:9, Paul reminds us that we have the Holy Sspirit indwelling us.  In today's Bible reading, he speaks of how the Holy Spirit ministers to us when we are overwhelmed by life's difficult circumstances.  When we are too weak and too distraught to pray, "the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered" (vv. 26-27).  Truly, He is our Paracletos (John 14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:7) variously translated as our "Helper" (NKJV), "Counselor" (NIV), "Comforter" (KJV), and "Advocate" (NLT).  He is the One who comes alongside to comfort and to remind us that as children of God we possess a guaranteed hope of redemption (Romans 8:23) and a future glory (vv. 14-16, 23).

CONFESSION OF OUR SINS

Confession Of Our Sins

When we confess our sins, it is like planting a
seed that helps forgiveness to grow in our lives.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and
will forgive us our sins and purify us from all
unrighteousness, (1 John 1:9-NIV).

Confession is like an eraser on a pencil.  When we
make a mistake in writing, we use the eraser to
take out that mistake.

When we confess to God, He erases our sins.  We
start anew.  God erases everything not just a few
things.

We don’t take confessing our sins likely.  It is not
an occasional event in our lives.  It is a continuing/
ongoing lifestyle.  We have to daily confess our sins
to the Lord.

When we confess our sins, we agree that we have
sinned.  Confessing our sins is agreeing with God as
a witness against ourselves.  What God has to say
about our sins we agree with Him.

We also respond to our sins the same way God responds
to them.  We know we have transgressed and they will
always be before us.  “These transgressions are against
you Lord and only you have the right to judge and forgive
us of these sins/transgressions.”
